Happy Wonderful Wednesday!
We started this morning with a pink shirt day assembly! We went over how pink shirt day originated and the importance of being kind to everyone always! We watched a video and a skit about ways we can stand up to bullies and what to do if we are bullied. Then we heard a speech about bullying from a Grade 4 student!
Some of our pink shirts today!
Snow at recess means building a snowman!
Pink Shirt Day Activity: Today we listened to a short anti-bullying day song and discussed the importance of being kind not just today but always. Together as a class we made a kindness quilt!
Math: Today students reviewed 3-D shape names and their given properties (vertices, edges and faces). Then students were given a clue and they needed to identify the shape that belonged to this clue. Next students were given a chance to build 3-D nets. Before they began they needed to write how many faces, edges and vertices the shape had.
Inquiry into Language: Today students read chapters 23,24 and 25 of or novel study ‘Charlie and The Chocolate Factory’ and answered comprehension questions about what they read.
Agenda:
· Read 15 minutes
· Spelling test Friday
· Spelling sentences due Friday
· Math test Friday
· Math review due Friday
· Summative letter sent home
· Bring in summative materials by tomorrow, Feb 27th
Unit of Inquiry: Today students continued to learn about Benjamin Franklin. We reviewed some of the discoveries and inventions he was responsible for and how our world would be a very different place without his inventions. Next students finished answering comprehension questions about Benjamin Franklin. A kind reminder that tomorrow is the day to bring in all necessary materials and recourses needed to start their invention.
Have a wonderful and safe evening,
Love, Miss Gandy
