Happy March Break! Today we had a wonderful but busy day dressed in our St. Patrick day colours

We had a house game today where we had to search for the coins inside the pot of lucky charms! Way to go Zeta for coming first, Theta second and Kappa third. The children were very excited

Math: Today students had to answer word problems using place value mats and column addition. We learned how important it is to understand place value and the tens and ones in a number. I have sent home a math package that reviews everything we have been learning so far. Please work with you child over the March break on completing the package

Inquiry into Language:Today children wrote their weekly spelling test! Please sign and return them. I have also sent a language sheet home in their agenda to continue to practice the correct punctuation in sentences.

Unit of Inquiry:Today students presented their summative projects! Way to go everyone! I was impressed by the creativity and knowledge behind everyone’s inventions.

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
