Monday, March 11 – Friday, March 22 – No School – March Break

Monday, March 25 – First day back after March Break and Term 3 begins

Wednesday, March 27 – Casual Day

Friday, March 29 – Term 2 report cards go home

Today was sports day! We represented some of our favourite teams :)

Math: Today students had to identify which numbers would need a trade. They had to then use a place value mat to answer the questions they had circled. They doubled checked their answers through column addition

Inquiry into Language:Today we read chapters 20,21 and 22 of our novel study and answered comprehension questions about the chapters.

Unit of Inquiry:Today students continued working on building their summative inventions and practicing their presentation for tomorrow! The students need to be able to explain their invention (name, how it works, how they built it) and how it makes their life or the lives of others easier.

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
