Happy Whacky Wednesday!

What a whacky bunch we were today! I am having so much fun with spirit week and it so nice to see the kids enjoying it as well :)

We had a house game this afternoon that was hosted by the Kappa teachers, we had to balance a balloon while walking through the markers. Great job to everyone who participated and for Kappa who came first, Zeta second and Theta third!

Math:Today students created and solved story problems involving addition, using place value concepts.

Daily 5:Today students wrote about what they learned and had fun doing this term and one thing they want to improve on for next term. This page will be sent home with report cards on March 29

Inquiry into Language:Today we read chapters 18 and 19 of our novel study and answered comprehension questions about the chapters.

Unit of Inquiry:Today students continued working on building their summative inventions! Children who finished had the option to create an advertisement poster for their presentation on Friday. The students need to be able to explain their invention (name, how it works, how they built it) and how it makes their life or the lives of others easier.

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
