**Speech finalists will be announced this Monday, February 3rd by 9:30am. The top three from my class and the top three from Mr. Foster’s class will compete against each other in the auditorium on Thursday, February 6th.
Story Connection: Today we read a book called 'Have you filled a bucket today?' We discussed after the book how important it is to be a bucket filler and not a bucket dipper. I told students that on Monday we will each get our own bucket and decorate it. We will be using these buckets to promote kindness throughout our classroom! We also discussed how to make connections to the book we are reading. We learned concepts such as text to self, text to text and text to the world. Then students had to make connections to the book we read and to these three different types of connections.
Gym: Please see Ms. V’s blog at https://msvphysed.blogspot.com
French: Today Mlle. Jessica was away so Ms. Autio covered the french class.

Math: Today we practiced reading and interpreting different graphs. We reviewed that a pictograph uses pictures whereas a bar graph uses a bar to represent the amount. Then students had to read and answer questions about the different graphs. A math review has been sent home inside their agendas! The math test will be this upcoming Wednesday.
