We spent the morning practicing our retells! I gave the children a choice to either practice with a partner or by themselves.

Math: Today we practiced reading and interpreting different graphs. We went over as a class the difference between a pictograph and a bar graph. Then students worked on reading and interpreting information about different cookies in a cookie jar and a bar graph about favourite sports.

Agenda:

1. Read 15 minutes

2. In class speech

3. Bring back re-registration package

4. Spelling test tomorrow

5. Spelling sentences due tomorrow

We spent the rest of the day doing speeches! I am incredibly proud of everyone. It takes a lot of bravery to stand in front of other people and everyone did a remarkable job!

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
