Happy Tremendous Tuesday!
Please send students with money for the bake sale in a baggie labelled with their name! We have had some misplacing of coins during the last bake sale so this will make it easier for us to keep track!

Inquiry into Language: Today students wrote a journal about an invention they would create and what they would do with that invention for the day. First we brainstormed different inventions we would invent that would help us with our daily lives. We had some very good ideas such as, an energy shooter, suction bot, robot homework helper etc. Students then wrote a journal using the components of journal writing…
1. Date and Title
2. Opening sentence
3. Sentence starters
4. Closing sentence
5. Detailed sentences

Gym: Please see Ms. V’s blog at https://msvphysed.blogspot.com

Math: Today in math students focused on reading and interpreting graphs. Students were introduced to pictographs and we went over the difference between pictographs and bar graphs. For example, pictographs use pictures to show the amount whereas bar graphs use bars to represent the amount. Then students read and interpreted a graph about dinosaurs and asked questions about the graph.
Music:  Mrs. McMillian was away today, so students worked on a music worksheet with Mrs. Autio during this time!

French: Please see Mlle. Jessica’s blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com

Agenda:
1. Read 15 minutes
2. Book retell presentations on Thursday
3. Bring back re-registration package
4. Spelling test Friday
5. Spelling sentences due Friday
6. Bake sale tomorrow

Unit of Inquiry:  Today we discussed inventions from the past and present. Students learned that some things we use today have been invented in the past and have gone through changes/ advancements to improve these inventions, for example the telephone. Then students had sort and organize different inventions into past or present columns.

Have a wonderful evening,

Love, Miss Gandy
