Inquiry into Language: Today students wrote out 2020 goals for the New Year. We reviewed what the term ‘goals’ mean and the difference between short and long term goals. We reviewed that a short-term goal is something that we want to achieve in a short amount of time whereas a long-term goal is something that will take a longer time to achieve. Students brainstormed and wrote out some of their 2020 goals!

Gym: Please see Ms. V’s blog at https://msvphysed.blogspot.com

Math: Today we reviewed reading and answering word problems. We went over the importance of reading through the question more than once and looking for key words to help us determine if we need to add or subtract. For example, words such as altogether, more, less, take away, join etc. Students then worked independently to complete different word problem.

Music: Please see Mrs. McMillian’s blog at https://mrsmcmillanmusic.blogspot.com

French: Please see Mlle. Jessica’s blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com

Agenda:
1. Read 15 minutes
2. ** Work on book retell- thank you to everyone who worked over this during the break. I have had a look at a few of them and they sound amazing! We will continue to work on the book retell so please make sure every night it is put back inside their agenda.
3. Re-registration package
4. Math review due Wednesday
5. Math test Wednesday
6. Organization sheet due Monday

Unit of Inquiry: To our agenda took us a bit longer as we had lots of things to go through that were sent home tonight. Therefore we only had 15 minutes of UOI before it was home time. So I let students use that time for FUN FRIDAY!
Have a wonderful weekend, stay safe and warm with his ice storm coming our way!

Love, Miss Gandy
