Happy Marvellous Monday!
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! This week is on of my favourite weeks in the classroom making crafts, listening to Christmas music and spending time with the children before the long break.

Today we found Sparkles hanging in the wire of our blinds!
Someone lost their tooth today!! I hope the tooth fairy spoils you :)

Inquiry into Language: Today we started the day with a comprehension task. Together as a class we read the passage about Ana and her plan to trap Santa. Then we answered questions about the text. After students wrote a journal about their own plan to trap Santa.

Gym: Today for Gym we did Go Noodle!!

Math: Today students worked through a variety of adding questions with regrouping and word problems. When students finished they worked with a partner on their mental math addition and subtraction using flash cards.

Music: Please see Mrs. McMillian’s blog at https://mrsmcmillanmusic.blogspot.com

Inquiry into Language: Today we reviewed the components of a journal. We went over that a journal must include a date, title, opening sentence, sentence starters and a closing sentence. Students will be writing a journal about how they got stuck in a snow globe. Today they started brainstorming all the things that could happen if they were stuck in a snow globe. Then students used their brainstorming ideas to complete squares to organize their ideas. We will continue working on this throughout the week!
Agenda:
Read 15 minutes
Casual day Wednesday
Bake Sale Wednesday
Christmas spirit day Thursday
Bring all Library books back to be returned before the holiday break

Unit of Inquiry: Today students organized a bookshelf of their own. We brainstormed different ways to organize the books. For example: alphabetical order, genre or subject, colour, favourite books or books waiting to be read.

Have a wonderful evening,

Love, Miss Gandy
