Friday, December 20- January 7- No School/ Christmas Holiday

On December 17, 2019, students from Grade 3 to Grade 8 will put on two performances at the St. Jude’s Academy Dome. Our afternoon performance will begin at 1:00 pm, with doors opening at 12:30. Our evening performance will begin at 6:30 pm, with doors opening at 6:15 pm. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Please keep in mind that outside food and drinks are not permitted in the Dome.

For our evening performance, families are welcome to take our shuttle from St. Jude’s to the Dome and back. Shuttles will begin running from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Please meet in the main office.

We encourage all families to come bundled up to stay warm and cozy for the entire show. The students and teachers have put a tremendous amount of work into their performances and kindly ask that all families stay and enjoy the show until the end.

Parent Guild will be running and 50/50 draw after the Grade 3-8 Christmas concert. Please see information below.

Today we found Sparkles hanging from the door! She sent a sweet message wishing us a great trip!

Today we had so much fun at the Superstore. Children made pizza, fruit kebobs and their own gingerbread house. We also learned about healthy foods and the importance of having vegetables and fruits. Some of us even added some vegetables on our pizza that we have never tried before. We had a room full of risk takers! Here are some pictures of our day!

Inquiry into Language: Today students wrote their spelling test. Please sign and return on Monday. Please note there is no spelling test next week so we will not having spelling sentences due.

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
