Happy Terrifically Cold Thursday!
Today we found Sparkles in our library! She even brought us a new book to read together as a class.

Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow is our field trip! I still have a few outstanding who need to pay in time for tomorrow. Please come in formal dress uniform.

Comprehension: Today we read a passage together as a class. Then students worked on their comprehension skills by answering questions about what they had read. Then students had to match words from the story with their meanings and create sentences using rhyming words.
Gym: Please see Ms. V’s blog at https://msvphysed.blogspot.com

Music: Please see Mrs. McMillian's blog at https://mrsmcmillanmusic.blogspot.com

Math: Today we focused on word problems. We went over looking for key words within the sentences to help us determine if we need to subtract or add. Then students completed one-step words problems. After, I introduced two- step word problems, we went over the appropriate strategies to use to help use get to the answer and how we check we got the correct answer.

Inquiry into Language: Today we reviewed the components of a journal. We went over that a journal must include a date, title, opening sentence, sentence starters and a closing sentence. We brainstormed ideas of what how we eat a gingerbread cookie! Then we put our ideas in sequence and began writing our journal. We are practicing stretching our sentences and including as much detail as possible. We used a brainstorming page before we began writing about out gingerbread eating habits!

Unit of Inquiry: Today we continued to discuss organization and the implications of not being organized. We thought about a bookshelf or shelf of our toys and how we could organize them. Then students were given their own shelf and they needed to organize their items.

Agenda:
