Our SJA Student Council is holding a clothing drive from Monday, December 2-Friday, December 6. Please bring in gently used clothing that you no longer need. All donations will go to the Diabetes Association. Thank you in advance for your donations!!

A note regarding the JK-Grade 2 Christmas Concert

On December 10, 2019, students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 2 will put on two performances at the St. Jude’s Dome. Our afternoon performance will begin at 1:00 PM, with doors opening at 12:30 PM. Our evening performance will begin at 6:30 PM, with doors opening at 6:15 PM. Seating is on a first come first serve basis. Please keep in mind that outside food and drinks are not permitted in the Dome.

Please ensure JK-Grade 2 students are in their classroom at 5:30 PM for the evening performance.

For our evening performance, families are welcome to take our shuttle from St. Jude’s to the Dome and back. Shuttles will run from 6:00-7:00 PM.

We encourage all families to come bundled up to stay warm and cozy for the entire show. The students and teachers have put a tremendous amount of work into their performances and kindly ask that all families stay and enjoy the show until the end.

We look forward to seeing you all there!

The SJA Parent Guild is pleased to hold its 2nd Christmas Skate for all students and parents/guardians to celebrate the festive season and enjoy some time together. Any proceeds will go towards ongoing fundraising efforts. This event will take place on Thursday, December 12 from 3:30-5:30 pm at Meadowvale 4-Rinks. Ice time from 4:00-5:00 pm. Bring your own skates or skate rental option is also available. There will be hot chocolate and treats for students and Santa will be ready for selfies! Forms will be distributed Thursday. Forms and payment are due by Monday, December 2nd to the homeroom teacher. Please return forms and payment as soon as possible! We will be accepting non-perishable food donations for the Food Bank so please feel free to bring items in. See you there! Today we had spent the day rehearsing for our Christmas concert tomorrow! Please see my email sent home about all the information for tomorrow.

Math: Today students used count by 10 strategies to determine the sum of different equations. They recognized that each question was increasing by 10 so the answer would be the same.

Inquiry into Language: Students completed activities from their spelling workout book to prepare for the review test on Friday.

Agenda:

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
