Happy Stormy Monday!
I hope everyone had a lovely and safe weekend! It was a crazy weather day yesterday and today.
Today we had a special visitor come to our classroom! Our elf flew all the way from the North Pole to watch over us for Santa! We found her ontop of our Christmas tree. Together as a class we decided on a name for her. Please say hello to ‘Sparkles’. She will be with us everyday until Christmas break reporting back to Santa on everything she sees.
Math: Today students reviewed double-digit addition on the board. We went over some questions together as a class. Then students had to use different strategies to add two-digit numbers together and recognize and record the pattern.
Gym: No Gym today
French: No French today
Inquiry into Language: Today students learned their weekly spelling words. They then used their spelling words to complete various tasks within the spelling workout book. After, students worked on a few pages of their cursive. This was a nice time for me to walk around and see how students are doing and guide them or correct them with their writing!
Christmas concert rehearsal: Today we were at the Dome practicing for our Christmas concert performance. We went over spacing and walking on and off the stage. Our special day is coming up very soon, please let me know if you have any question regarding the outfits for this day.
Agenda:
Read 15 minutes

Unit of Inquiry: Today we wrapped out our dinosaur unit by finishing the last 15 minutes of ‘The Good Dinosaur’. Then we reflected on what we learned throughout this unit and filled in our KWL chart that we started at the beginning of the unit.
Then students were introduced to our next unit of inquiry, ‘How we organize ourselves’. We used think, pair and share to discuss what organization means or what it means to be organized. I was very impressed with some of the responses! Then together as a class we organized our tables and used labels to help us keep all the similar things together. This will help us remember where to put things back and where things are if we need them.
Have a wonderful evening and stay warm!
Love, Miss Gandy
