Inquiry into Language: Today students wrote their weekly spelling test. Please sign and return them Monday!

Math: Today we played some different mental math games. Our next math unit is adding and subtracting to 100. Mental math activities will help students recognize doubles and answer subtraction and addition questions! The math tests we wrote yesterday will be handed back on Monday as we are waiting for a few students to write the test!

Christmas Concert practice: Today we continued to practice our Christmas performance! We practiced the boys singing, the girls singing and then everyone altogether with the actions.

Unit of Inquiry: Today students were given 10 minutes to practice their presentation either to themselves or with a buddy before we continued our presentation. We spent the majority of the day presenting our summative project! We will finish the remainder presentations on Monday!

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
