Inquiry into Language: Today students wrote a journal reflecting on the our novel study, Dinosaurs Before Dark. Students had to write a reflection about their favourite part of the book. They needed to include a reason to support why it was their favourite using as much detail as possible. Then students thought about if they who they would recommend the book to and why.

Math: Today students wrote their assessment for our time, temperature and money unit. I am very proud of everyone’s hard work! This is a hard unit and very important to continue practicing counting money and telling time even though this unit is over.

Unit of Inquiry: Today students were given 10 minutes to practice their presentation either to themselves or with a buddy. Then we started our presentations. We will finish of all the presentations hopefully tomorrow and/or Monday.

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
