Happy World Kindness Day!

We enjoyed some fun in the snow during recess time!

Today we had a very busy day!

We spent the majority of the day working on our science fair experiment! Please remember science fair judging is tomorrow and parents are able to visit on Friday from 2:20- 3:15 to see everything we have been learning about.

We also spent some time filling in our chain links for World Kindness Day. We thought about what kindness means to us and the importance of being kind. We believe that we should treat others how we want to be treated.

Unit of Inquiry: Today students finished working on their dinosaur writing and art piece! Please come and visit them outside our classroom! Students have worked very hard on them and they turned out great.

Then students spent the rest of day working on their summative projects. They started their bulletin board or storybook. First students were asked to think about how they would plan the board before they began gluing and sticking. It was great to see and hear everything the students have learned about their given dinosaur! They are very excited.

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
