Special of the month: Spaghetti and Meatballs which is available every Friday.

Happy Terrifically Snowy Tuesday!

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend and stayed warm during our first snowstorm.

Also wanted to give a big birthday shout out to our friend who celebrated his birthday on the weekend! Happy Birthday Ethan!

Today I was out of the classroom helping with the choreography of their Christmas Concert. This is what their day involved….

Inquiry into Language: Today students learned their spelling words of the week. Then students used their spelling words to complete various spelling tasks.

Math: Today students reviewed time and the components of the clock. They went over what the big hand and little hand represent on the clock. Then mini clocks were handed out to the students and Ms. Autio would tell them a time to represent on their clock. Then students worked through where they had to identify the time on the analogue clock. Students also worked through questions where they had to add 15- minute intervals. For example: The bus comes every 15 minutes, the first bus came at 10:00am when will the next 3 buses come?

Please disregard the sheets that were sent home this evening in agenda bags. They were not homework sheets but ones they worked on in class.

Unit of Inquiry: Today students continued working on their dinosaur writing and art piece!

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
