Happy Bake Sale Tuesday :)
We enjoyed some yummy treats today during the Bake Sale!
Today, we started the morning with a birthday assembly! Everyone who had a birthday in September got to pick a prize from the birthday chest and listen to everyone sing Happy Birthday!
Inquiry into Language: Today children reviewed nouns and verbs. Then they learned about adjectives. We discussed that an adjective is a word that describes a noun. For example: apple (noun) crunchy (adjective). We discussed that to help us when thinking of describing words we can turn to our 5 senses such as touch, sight, touch, smell and sound. Children had to then work through a worksheet brainstorming different adjectives to describe the nouns.
Gym: Please see Ms. V’s blog at https://msvphysed.blogspot.com

Math: Today children wrote addition and subtraction sentences to describe arrangements of snap cubes. They learned that knowing an addition fact helps us find the answers to a subtraction fact. After we finished working in the workout book children were partnered up and given an amount of snap cubes and wrote different number sentences for them!
Music: Please see Mrs. McMillan’s blog at http://mrsmcmillanmusic.blogspot.com

Agenda:
·       Read 15 minutes
·       Spelling test Friday
·       Spelling sentences due Friday
·       Bring in resources if needed for summative project
·       Bake sale tomorrow

Unit of Inquiry: Today we continued working on our summative projects! I have told the children that I do not mind some support from parents at home. If parents want to help children brainstorm ideas or guide them when writing the rules that is fine! The making and presenting of the game will be some completely by the children! I have started to see some very imaginative games being created.
Thank you to my teacher helper for the day, Sahib. K.
Have a wonderful evening,
Love,
Miss Gandy
