Happy Magnificent Monday :)
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! Bake sale is tomorrow; please send your child with change in a baggie with their name clearly labeled.

This morning we had a presentation from Ms. Hayward and the Grade 4’s about the impact of Residential schools on Indigenous people. Well done everyone, it was a wonderful presentation.

Daily 5: We missed out on a few math lessons because of fall fundraiser last week, so I decided to use our daily 5 time to catch up.  Today we reviewed the spelling of numbers 1-20. Students were able to recognize a trick with spelling some of the words. For example: to spell the word fourteen, we are just adding the ending teen to the spelling of four. Four+teen= fourteen.
Gym: Please see Ms. V’s blog at https://msvphysed.blogspot.com

Math: Today students reviewed number sentence word problems. We went over the importance of reading the questions and underlining numbers and words that will help us determine if we need to add or subtract. Together as a class we completed word problems together! After students practiced counting in their 2’s, 5’s and 25’s. I have asked children to continue practice our counting at home!

Inquiry into Language: Today students learned the words of the week, they copied them off the board in both printing and cursive. Then students worked in their spelling workout books identifying words that end and begin with n,g and d.

French: Please see Mlle. Jessica’s blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com

Bring in summative resources if needed for game

Unit of Inquiry: Today we started brainstorming and creating our summative projects. Students are being asked to take their learning of relationships/ rules/ responsibilities and create a game. Students will write out the rules to their game in list format. Today we went over that list format included date, title, bullets/numbers and ideas. We brainstormed different games we could change or alter and also games we can create from scratch. If children need resources such as cards, chessboard, board game etc., please bring it throughout the week as we will be working on this throughout the week.
Thank you to Armaan, my teacher helper for the day.

Have a wonderful evening,
Love,
Miss Gandy
