We are also encouraging all students to bring in a ‘Toonie for Terry’ and are asking that students come to school dressed in their SJA gym pants/shorts along with their house coloured gym shirt. If students do not own a house t-shirt, they may wear their regular gym shirt.
Happy Tremendous Thursday!
Unit of Inquiry visit: Today we had a few visitors come to our school to explain some important rules and responsibilities in our community. Students asked questions about the rules and responsibilities they have to keep our community safe.

Math: Today we learned how to create a pattern only using a given amount of shapes. In tables students worked together to create a pattern using 9 cubes and 6 triangles. We discussed that we can’t just put all the shapes together in a row and say we are finished because a pattern needs to repeat.
Inquiry into Language:Today children completed their pre Ontario writing assessment. The assessment is only for students to show their prior knowledge of list writing. These will help us see what children already know and where we need to go to push them forward in their learning!
Agenda: Students were sent home with their agenda, every day they will write out the important dates and homework inside it. Parents are being asked to check agendas nightly and sign off beside my initials.

Unit of Inquiry:Today we introduced the second part to our Unit of Inquiry, responsibility. We had a class discussion about what we think responsibility is and what things we are responsible for. We even shared some examples! We thought about why it is important to have responsibilities and what would happen if we didn’t have any.Children then thought of the different jobs that they are responsible for in our classroom. For example, my gardener is responsible for watering the class plan at the end of they day. Children then worked on writing 3 things they are responsible for at school and at home. It was great to hear many things children are responsible for at home.
Have a great evening and don’t forget spelling test tomorrow.
Love,
Miss. Gandy
