Happy Wonderful Wednesday!
We enjoyed the sunshine and warm weather today :)

Inquiry into Language: Today students reviewed the components of a complete sentence. We introduced different types of sentences such as exciting, telling and asking sentences and came up with a few as a class. I also wrote different sentences on the board and students needed to choose the correct punctuation for the ending of the sentence. Then students worked on identifying and correcting sentences to include the appropriate capitalization and punctuation.

Math:Today we reviewed the 6 attributes (colour, shape, size, direction, numbers and letters) and pattern core within a pattern. Children were asked to think of a pattern with two attributes and share them to the class on the whiteboard. Children worked in their Math Makes Sense workbook identifying two changing attributes in various patterns. Then, they made their own pattern identifying the changing attributes and pattern core

Unit of Inquiry:Today everyone finished their good copy of their favourite and most important school rule! These will be hung up outside the classroom so please come by and have a look at all our hard work.
After, children got to show their knowledge of rules and following rules by playing a game called ‘What's the Rule’. Students started in a circle with one rule given by me. They were not allowed to drop the ball. Students passed the ball around and if a student dropped the ball they were out. The child out got to add another rule for students to follow. At the end of the game we had 9 different rules that the children had to follow. When the game was finished we talked about what made this game so hard and why it was important we had these rules!

Thank you to Aviraj, my teacher helper for the day!

Have a wonderful evening!

Love,
Miss Gandy
