SJA Summer Camp

With summer around the corner, what better way for your children to spend the summer but here at SJA! SJA summer camp registrations were sent home earlier this year. We are offering 7 weeks of summer fun with a minimum of 3 excursions per week. There is lunch and snack options and before and after care available. Register before it is too late! Ms. Hughes would be happy to answer any questions you may have. She can be reached at bsmith@stjudesacademy.com

Inquiry into Language:Today students wrote their spelling test! Please sign and return them on Monday. Once students were finished we went outside to write a journal about our goals for Grade 2. Students had to brainstorm different goals that they want to try and reach next year and put them into detailed sentences. They needed to include a date, title, sentence starters, detailed sentences and a concluding sentence!

Unit of Inquiry:Today we had our last summative presentation! Zayn presented his diorama about the lion and the characteristics of its habitat the grassland. Well done Zayn!

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
