Happy Magnificent Last Monday!
This week we are celebrating our Summer birthdays! Children who didn’t have a turn to wear the birthday pin and hold the birthday bear will get a chance this week.
Today we celebrated to very special birthdays
French: We started the day with Mlle. Jessica. Please see her blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com

MathToday the students were introduced to the concept of multiplication. They will not be tested on this unit, but are being introduced it to prepare for grade 2. We discussed how multiplication is the same as repeated addition. We used groups of marbles to show different multiplication problems. Then I gave each student different groups to make with the marbles. As a group, we discussed what the addition sentence would be, and then what the multiplication sentence would be. We worked through different questions in the math workout book.
Grade 5 Coding Exhibition: Today we went to view the grade 5's coding exhibition where they showcased different games they created on their own! The students had a lot of fun

Gym: Please see Ms.Yustin’s blog at https://sjaayustin.blogspot.com

Agenda:
Play day Wednesday
Casual day Wednesday
House cup Thursday: wear house colours
Promotion ceremony Friday: dress up
Read 15 minutes

Inquiry into Language:Today students wrote a journal entry about what they would do if they were a teacher for the day. Students included the parts of a journal such as date, title, opening sentence, sentence starters and concluding sentence. Students had to watch out for the punctuation police today, I was looking for detailed sentences, capital letters and periods.

Unit of Inquiry:Today we started to work on our IB Binders; we picked our best work, what we worked the hardest on and work we think we could have improved on.

Have a wonderful evening GO RAPTORS GO!

Love,
Miss Gandy
