Math:Today students reviewed 2D-Shapes. We went over the names, vertices and sides of the different shapes that will be on our test. We also practiced drawing symmetrical shapes and learning how to mirror different images. After we discussed the movement of these shapes such as slide, flip, turn and rotate.

Inquiry into Language:Today we read Chapter 5 of our novel study ‘Afternoon on the Amazon’. Then children answered comprehension questions about what they read.

Students wrote their spelling test! Please sign and return on Tuesday

Gym: Ms.Yustin was away today so I took the children outside for gym, we played a variety of different games while enjoying the nice sunshine!

Track and field May 23^rd

Unit of Inquiry:We had some very special visitors today! We went to our creature quest presentation where we learned all about some animals including the frog, turtle, owl, snake, and rabbit. We learned some really cool facts about each one and students got to ask questions. At the end we got the opportunity to touch most of the animals! The students had so much fun!

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
