A note regarding library books from Ms. Hayward:
Happy I Think I Can Tuesday!
I hope everyone had a lovely long weekend! Just a few things to note, there will be no more spelling tests for the remainder of the year. We have finished working through our spelling workout book. Please continue to work on spellings with your child over the summer!
Track and field is taking place this coming Thursday! Please send your child wearing their gym uniform (shorts, t-shirt, sweater and track pants). Please ensure sunscreen is applied and packed in their backpacks
French: We started the day with Mlle. Jessica. Please see her blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com
Math:Today we reviewed the names, sides and edges of 2-D Shapes. Students were given a shape and had to identify their properties. Then students had to use instructions to complete different tasks on a quilt of shapes such as turn, flip, rotate, mirror the image etc.
Inquiry into Language:Today we read Chapter 6 of our novel study ‘Afternoon on the Amazon’. Then children answered comprehension questions about what they read.
Agenda:
Math test Friday
Math review due Thursday
Track and field Thursday-please wear gym uniform
Read 15 minutes/comprehension
Please bring back any library books
End of year play forms due Thursday
Unit of Inquiry: Today we watched a video that talked about the different animals and plants we find in the desert. Then as a class we came up with a list of each one. Then students had to choose 8 of each to copy onto their sheet. Then they began drawing the desert and had to make sure to include the appropriate animals and plants that belong there.
Have a wonderful sunny evening,
Love,
Miss Gandy
