Grade 6 Exhibition:
Happy Tremendous Thursday!!
French: We started the day with Mlle. Jessica. Please see her blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com
Arts Night Performance:Today we practiced our song and actions for arts night. It is quickly approaching so please continue to practice at home! I have sent an email of the recording the children can use to continue to practice at home.
Math:Today students reviewed finding the area of different shapes by counting the square units inside the shape.
Inquiry into Language: Today students wrote a letter to Mr. Sawatsky about different equipment/ structures that they think should be added to our playground. They needed to include reason for their choice of equipment/ structure. They also needed to include five parts of a letter (heading, opening, body, closing and signature). I think Mr. Sawatsky would really enjoy reading these letters!
Agenda:
Spelling test tomorrow
Spelling sentences due tomorrow
Arts summative expectations and rubric sent home
Read 15 minutes/ comprehension
Unit of Inquiry: Students continued working in their partners to read and record facts about their chosen artist! Once they were finished they started their artwork. The students got to pick a famous piece from one of the artists we learned about yesterday and got to recreate the piece. They were reminded to try and make it look similar to the original and to include the important elements that characterize that certain artist. We will continue working on these tomorrow.
Thank you to my teacher helper, you are always such as great help!!
Have a wonderful evening,
Love,
Miss Gandy
