Arts Night Performance: Today we practiced our arts night performance with Mrs. Mcmillian. Please continue to use the recording I sent via email to practice with your child. If you need any extra lyrics please email and let me know!

Math:Today students worked through a linear measurement, area and perimeter package. Students had to estimate and measure the lengths of trees and find the perimeter of rectangles. If they finished they had to then find the area. We can confidently show our understanding that perimeter means the distance outside an object whereas area is the inside of an object.

Inquiry into Language: Today students wrote their weekly spelling test! Please sign and return them on Monday.

Unit of Inquiry:Today students continued working on their artwork. They were reminded to try and make it look similar to the original and to include the important elements that characterize that certain artist.

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
