Math:Today students continued making their own subtraction and addition sentences using place value mats and the column method. Students also identified subtraction questions that required trading and used materials to find the answers.
Daily 5:Today we started our sorting our IB Binders for our past invention unit. Students picked two pieces of their best work, work that needs improvement and work that they tried their hardest on.
Inquiry into Language:Today we read chapters 27 and 28 of our novel study and answered comprehension questions about the chapters we had read.

Unit of Inquiry:Today students added the final piece to their Ted Harrison painting. Ted Harrison was famous for his colourful landscape paintings of the Yukon community, which included what is called ‘Inukshuk’. Students learned that this is a structure stacked in stones in the form of a human figure, traditionally used by Inuit people as a landmark or sign.
