Happy Tremendous Tuesday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend spent with family!

French: We started the day with Mlle. Jessica. Please see her blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com

Music: Next we had a music lesson with Mrs. Mcmillan. Please see her blog at https://mrsmcmillanmusic.blogspot.com

Math:Today students learned how to build 3-D solids. Students needed to select what shapes they would use to build a house and explain their reasoning. We discussed why we would not choose shapes such as cylinders or spheres because they would be hard to stack and would roll. Then they needed to use pictures, numbers or words to show how they would build the house.

We each got a 3-D shape and had to share with the class the properties of this certain shape, such as faces, vertices, name and edges.
Inquiry into Language:Today students learned their spelling words for the week and worked through the spelling workbook.

After, we read Chapters 3,4 and 5 of our novel study ‘Charlie and The Chocolate Factory’ and answered comprehension questions. We are really focusing on using full sentences when we are answering questions.

Agenda:
Spelling test Friday
Spelling test Friday
Trip Thursday
Return math test
Cursive 3 pages
Pay for trip
Read 15 minutes

Unit of Inquiry: Today students got in pairs to write a biography on an important inventor/invention. We defined the word ‘biography’ learning that a biography is when we write about someone else’s life. This includes writing about their life events such as birth, death, occupation etc. We will continue working on this project tomorrow.

Thank you to my teacher helper Kaysha you are always such a great help!

Have a wonderful evening,

Love,
Miss Gandy
