Mr. Foster’s Farmers Market and Ms. Gandy’s Groceries
As part of our summative assessment the grade one classes have decided to open a market to complement our organization unit. The market will include fruits, vegetables, drinks and other healthy snacks. It will be held in rooms 25, 28 and 29. The market will take place all day Thursday, January. 24th and Friday, January. 25th. All profits made will be donated to the Sick Kid’s Hospital.

Happy Gloomy Tuesday!
Miss. Gandy gave us our blurt beans! Every time we blurt out or talk without raising our hand we have to give her a bean. At the end of the week the remaining beans in our baggie we put in a big jar. We are trying to fill the jar to reach three different rewards. 1. Extra recess 2. A prize from the prize box and our big prize 3. Movie and popcorn day

French: We started the day with Mlle Jessica. Please see her blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com

Math: Today we continued to review addition and subtracting, adding and subtracting double-digit numbers and word problems. We went through the different vocabulary that would help us recognize if we have to subtract or add. We thought of words such as more, add, plus, altogether, minus and take away. After we worked through different pages in our workbook and an addition and subtraction sheet for review!

Gym: Please see Ms.Yustin’s blog at https://sjaayustin.blogspot.com

Inquiry into Language:Today students worked through their book retell sheet. We reviewed that when we are writing the beginning, middle and end we are not copying the book word for word. The point of this presentation is to retell the story using our own words.
Agenda:
Math test Thursday
Math review due Thursday
Spelling test Friday
Spelling sentences due Friday (we are working on making these sentences detailed)
Book retell sheet due Monday
Market January 24 and 25

Unit of Inquiry:Today students completed their good copy market posters for the classroom. We included important information like time, place and date. After we completed those we started our table posters for the market labeling the different parts we will be selling. We discussed how this is important when we are trying to be organized

Thank you to my teacher helper Arya, you are always such a great help!

Have a wonderful evening,
Miss Gandy J
