The class that sells the most Poinsettias will win a $50 gift card!! Order between November 1stand November 30th by cash only.
A note from our Librarian, Ms. Hayward:
Happy Tuesday!
Music: Next we had a music lesson with Mr. Flower. Please see his blog at http://flowermusicsja.blogspot.com
Math:Today we focused on reviewing time! As a class we went over the parts of the clock such as the big hand and little hand. Next we practiced telling the time on our very own clocks. Our partner would tell us a time and we had to show it on the clock.
After, I gave the children a sheet of different analogue clocks. They had to write the time that was shown on each clock.
Before lunch, Miss Gandy received a letter gift-wrapped in her teacher’s mailbox. She brought it into class and all the children were so curious who it was from. Miss Gandy had no idea either because no one put a name on it! We opened it, and to our amazement it was from Santa Claus!
It read…
We took a vote and named her Joy! We are patiently awaiting her arrival!
Agenda:
Christmas clothes by December 1st
Read 15 minutes
Spelling sentences due Friday (children are asked to stretch their sentences and make them more detailed)
Spelling test Friday
Trip form and money
Casual day tomorrow
Bake sale tomorrow
Inquiry into Language: Today students wrote an Ontario Writing Assessment on journal writing. They had to retell a time when they had a snow day! Please do not panic, this is not a test, it is just to see what the children already know about journal writing and where they need to go.
Unit of Inquiry:For the remaining of the day we finished reflecting on our summative projects and then worked in our IB Binders. We picked 2 pieces of our best work, work that needs improvement and a way that we showed an IB profile.
Thank you to Kai my teacher helper, you are always being such a great help!
Have a wonderful evening,
Miss Gandy J
