Tuesday, November 27 – Bake sale

Wednesday, November 28 – Bake sale and casual day

Friday, November 30 – Term One report cards go home

World Kindness Day is taking place on Tuesday, November 13th. Students are asked to give a handprint for every act of kindness they perform. For $2.00, students can have an extra casual day.

SCIENCE FAIR FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 16TH

Music: Next we had a music lesson with Mr. Flower. Please see his blog at http://flowermusicsja.blogspot.com

Math:Today in math students learnt how to tell and read time on both analogue and digital clocks. First we reviewed the big hand and little hand on the clock and what it meant if the big hand is on the 12 or if it is on the 6. After we finished working in our workbooks we partnered up and practiced telling the time our partners asked.

Inquiry into Language: Today children worked on their words of the week that focused on short vowel ‘a’ sounds. Students then used their spelling words to complete various tasks in their spelling workout book.

Then we had some brave friends that presented the Guy Fawkes poem to the class! Thank you to everyone who practiced at home, I was so impressed with the memorization skills J

Unit of Inquiry:Today students finished their dinosaur drawing, glued their head cut out on to their picture to be hung up on our board outside the classroom!

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
