World Kindness Day is taking place on Tuesday, November 13th. Students are asked to give a handprint for every act of kindness they perform. For $2.00, students can have an extra casual day.

Math:Today we learnt how to tell the time in 15-minute intervals

Reading Buddies:Next we had our reading buddies from grade three! After they read us a book they asked us questions about the book such as who were the main characters? What happened in the story? Where did the story take place?

Inquiry into Language: Today we read Chapter 9 of our novel study book and then answered comprehension questions about the text we had just read! The children retold the chapter in sequence and predicted what they think will happen in the last chapter.

PD day November 9^th

Unit of Inquiry:Today students reviewed what a Venn diagram is and how we use them! I gave students two dinosaur fact cards and in partners they compared both dinosaurs. We looked at what was the same about both dinosaurs and what was different about them. Then we sorted the information.

Today my teacher helper was Zayn! It was his first time being my teacher helper and he did a wonderful job!

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
