French: We started the day with Mlle Jessica. Please see her blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com

Math:Today students reviewed double facts. We went over the different doubles all the way up to 20. Students then answered a variety of double addition questions on their whiteboards and then used flashcards to answer double questions mentally.
We also reviewed odd and even numbers and the trick to deciding whether or not a double-digit number is even or odd. *Remember to look in the ones place value

Daily 5: Children filled in the days we have completed at school in ten frames. We have had 33 days of school already… I can’t believe that. Next children filled in their weather chart and predicted what it will be tomorrow.

Gym: Please see Ms. Yustin’s blog at https://sjaayustin.blogspot.com

Inquiry into Language:  We read chapters 5 and 6 of our novel study and answered comprehension questions.

After we finished we used reflection cubes to develop children’s comprehension of different stories, elements, events and readers opinions. They were able to retell the story in sequence, identify characters in the story, understand the setting and what they liked best about the chapter and why?
Agenda:
Spelling test Thursday
Spelling sentences due Friday
ROM trip Friday
Picture day Thursday
Spirit day October 31st
Read 15 minutes
Math review due Monday

Unit of Inquiry:  Today we introduced the different time periods in which dinosaurs roamed the earth. Today we focused on the first time period known as the Triassic period. This happened about 230 million years ago and when the climate was hot and very dry which meant there was limited plants and trees around. This is the time when the first dinosaurs appeared on Earth. Next children created a timeline of the Triassic period and labeled the different dinosaurs that roamed during this period.

Waiting patiently for our mysterious egg to crack! Wohooo

Thank you to my teacher helper was Nimrata, you were such a great help!

Have a wonderful evening,

Miss Gandy J
