Day 23
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!
Math:Today in math we reviewed adding and subtracting. Children used hundreds chart to help them skip count to the answer. We looked at the difference between adding and subtracting using pictures, letters and words. We worked as a class in our workbooks.
After we finished working in our workbooks, children were partnered up to work on adding and subtracting questions. Using their whiteboards they needed to create a question for their partner to answer.
At the end of our lesson we counted in our 2’s and 3’s. I am already seeing a huge improvement in the students counting in 3’s. Keep up the hard work!
Daily 5: Students worked in their math journal and recorded the weather for the day and filled in the ten frame for the days at school.
After gym we had our daily mediation for 5- minutes. It was very warm inside today so after a big workout children calmed down and focused on their breathing.
Inquiry into Language: Students recorded their weekly spelling words that begin and end with w,c,r. After they worked in their spelling workbooks.

Unit of Inquiry: We spent the rest of the afternoon working on our summative projects. For students who had not written out the rules to their game or created a name spent their time doing that. For students who had finished over the weekend I had them practising saying their rules out loud and teaching the game to be ready for tomorrow. I have seen some very interesting games being reinvented and I can’t wait to learn about them tomorrow!
Thank you to Kai for being such as wonderful help as my teacher helper!
Have a wonderful evening,
Miss Gandy
