Day 24
Happy Wednesday!
We had our very first class member who lost her first tooth! Sianna was so brave and she is very excited for the tooth fairy to come!
Music:Next we had an exciting music lesson with Mr. Flower. Please see his blog at http://flowermusicsja.blogspot.com
Math:Today in math students learnt the term doubles and how to utilize it in their work. We went over as a class the doubles from 1-10. We worked in our workbooks as a class and then gave it our best go on our own!
Then I partnered the children up and we played flashcard mania. One partner was in charge of flipping over the flashcard of the different doubles. For example 5+5 and then the other person needed to quickly answer. After we finished the set we switched roles! I was very impressed with some of the children’s doubles that we evene moved to higher numbers passed 10.
After gym we had our daily mediation for 5- minutes. Another warm day outside so children drank lots of water and cooled down during out meditation time.
Inquiry into Language: Children learnt about all the important parts of list writing. We discussed a list needs a title, bullets/numbers and our ideas. Today we wrote a list as a class of all our favourite vegetables (some of them could be classified as fruit). Tomorrow children will be writing their own list of their favourite food including all the elements we talked about today.
Agenda:

Unit of Inquiry: We spent the rest of the afternoon presenting our summative games. We went over how to be a good audience and presenter. After the children presented their game and talked about their rules they were asked how we can play their game responsible and why does your game need rules? We will continue presenting our games throughout the rest of the week!
Thank you to my teacher helper Zane, you were such a good help!
Have a wonderful evening,
Miss Gandy
