Day 7
What a busy day of learning today J
We started our morning with French with Mlle Jessica. Please see her blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com
Inquiry into Language:Today children completed their Pre Ontario Writing Assessment. This assessment is only for students to show their prior knowledge on list writing. These will help us see what children already know and where we need to go to push them forward in their learning! They tried very hard and worked completely on their own.
Daily 5: After our OWA, children worked on adding missing punctuation to sentences. We reviewed when we need capital letters, question marks, exclamation marks and periods.
Math:Today in math children focused on how to label patterns using numbers, letters and words. For example 1,1,2 or AAB or Blue Blue Green. Children were able to use what they have learnt so far to help them work out the patterning problems! We also created our own patterns and had our partners label the pattern a different way!
Agenda: Welcome BBQ September 20th

Spelling Sentences are due tomorrow
Spelling Test tomorrow
Cursive page 12 and 13
UOI:Today we introduced the second part to our Unit of Inquiry, responsibility. We had a class discussion about what we think responsibility is and what we are responsible for. We even shared some examples! We thought about why it is important to have responsibility and what would happen if we didn’t have any.
Children then thought of the jobs that they are responsible for in our classroom. Every day each child will have a job that they are responsible for. For example, my gardener always waters our class plant at the end of the day. We are responsible for keeping it alive.
Children then worked on writing 3 things they are responsible for at school and 3 things at home. We will finish these off tomorrow! It was great to hear many different things children are responsible for at home.
Today our teacher helper was Aarav!
Have a great evening and don’t forget Spelling Test tomorrowJ
