Day 4

I hope everyone had a well-deserved rest this past weekend!

We had a busy day in Grade one today J

We started this morning with French with Mlle Jessica. Please see her blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com

Next we had Music, children were very excited to try out different musical instruments and sing some songs. I am very proud of the brave students who volunteered to sing the different songs with Mr. Flower. Please see his blog at flowermusicsja.blogspot.com

Math:Today in math we continued discussing our unit on patterning. We reviewed how we sort different patterns. We discussed how we can sort different patterns based on their attributes. We thought of examples such as colour, shape, number, size, thickness, position, direction and letter. Some students came up with their own patterns using different attributes! Later we looked at what a pattern core is. Children then worked in their workbooks creating patterns, changing patterns based on their attributes and finding the pattern core.

Gym: Please see Ms. Yustin’s blog at https://sjaayustin.blogspot.com

Money due for BBQ September 14th

****** Spelling words were sent home this afternoon at the front of the students’ agenda, please revise these with your children for the spelling test this Friday. They are required to complete one sentence for every spelling word to be handed in by Friday.

Inquiry into Language:We reviewed our 10 spelling words for this week. We worked in our work books looking at letters that ended in s,t and b.

UOI: We continued exploring our topic on rules and responsibilities. We had a discussion on what our most important rules was to us. We all walked around and read the different rules we came up with and shared our most important rule and why? Tomorrow we will be making a poster about our favourite/most important rule!

To finish the day we read ‘No David’ and discussed why David’s mom is not happy with his behaviour and why she is always telling him NO! Rules are important at school and at home.

Have a great evening!

Miss Gandy
