Day 16
Happy Wednesday!
French: We started our morning with Mlle Jessica. Please see her blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com
Music:Next we had an exciting music lesson with Mr. Flower. Please see his blog at http://flowermusicsja.blogspot.com
Math: In math today we learned how to estimate. We understand that the term estimate means a smart guess. I had the children sit in a circle with a pile of different shapes. I gave them 10 seconds to look at the pile and come up with an estimate of how many are there. We went around the circle and shared our estimates.
Then to see how many are actually there we counted in our 2’s. We learned that we don’t always have to count in our 1’s because there are different ways we can count.
Please have your children practice their counting in 2’s, 3’s, 5’s, 10’s.
Inquiry into Language:Students were introduced to exciting sentences. We found out that an exciting sentence starts with a capital letter and ends with an exclamation mark (!). As a class we came up with some exciting sentence.

1. Loud voices
2. Eye contact
3. Appropriate behaviour
At the end of the day we created our Every Child Matters link for Orange Shirt Day to remember the residential school system and to show that every child matters. We wrote some kind words and drew pictures.
Today my teacher helper was Farah! Thank you for being such a great help J
Have a wonderful evening,
Miss Gandy
**Thank you to everyone who has started to bring in their research about Spain. If anyone would like to bring in some food that would be greatly appreciated. Does not have to be cooked as I know that is a lot to ask but maybe grab something Spanish from a bakery etc.,
