Day 14

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

FrenchWe started our morning with Mlle Jessica. Please see her blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com

Math:In math today children wrote the pre-assessment for our next unit, Number Relationships. This is not a test, it is just to understand what the children already know about number relations and see where they need to go.

After the assessment we sat on the carpet and reviewed our knowledge of counting by 2’s, 5’s, 10’s and 25’s.

Music:Next we had an exciting music lesson with Mr. Flower. Please see his blog at http://flowermusicsja.blogspot.com

Gym: Please see Ms. Yustin’s blog at https://sjaayustin.blogspot.com

After gym we did our daily 5-minute mediation session

Inquiry into Language: Children wrote out our spelling words for this week! We are looking at words that begin and end with j,f,g. Children used their spelling words to complete various tasks within their spelling workbooks.

After we finished in our spelling workbooks, children completed 2 pages in their cursive writing books.

Unit of Inquiry: Today we finished our Relationship Responsibility booklet, we discussed what relationships meant and the different responsibilities we could have. Children wrote out two special relationships and what they are responsible for.

After we finished our booklet, we collaborated as tables and discussed what it means to be a good friend. Children thought of the different qualities that make a good friend such as being ‘nice, kind, funny, silly; Tomorrow children will share some of their qualities that brainstormed to the class.
