Day 13

Happy Friday!

Math:After French we had our math test! I am so proud of the children they would extremely hard and they were able to show me everything they have learnt in our patterning unit.

After our math test, I let the children have free time. Children worked on puzzles, read different books or coloured at their tables! It was a well-deserved break

After gym we did our daily 5-minute mediation session

Inquiry into Language:Children wrote their spelling test!

After our spelling test children worked in their cursive books, then they came up to the board and practiced writing their names in cursive!

At the end the day children played two different games, ‘who stole the keys to the witch’s castle’ and ‘heads down thumbs up’.

Our Terry Fox event is just around the corner. This is an annual event here at SJA. As we have done every year, we are asking donations. Pledge sheets have been sent home, and will be due by Wednesday, September 26^th. The class with the highest amount of money collected will win an ice cream party! Thank you in advance for your donations!

October hot lunch can now be ordered. The site will
close on September 26th at 3:00 PM, so please get your orders
in before then, as the site cannot be re-opened. October
hot lunch payments are due by October 10th. Please ensure
you are ordering under the correct grade and teacher.

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
