Re-Registration
Hello SJA Families!
The Re-registration Deadline is fast approaching (February 18 by 4pm), and we want to ensure that your child’s registration is complete when returned, to avoid having to send home for missing information. Some common things that are missed:
· Signatures on application form
· Health card number
· Emergency contact info (other than parent/guardian)
· 3 sets of initials on the tuition fee schedule (one for payment plan, and two at the bottom)
· Completed payment methods form (parent name(s), student name(s), banking info (or void cheque), selecting business or personal use, and signature
Please ensure that you are returning:
· Signed application form (indicate any changes to information)
· Signed re-registration agreement
· Completed and signed health history form
· Completed and signed photo permission form
· Completed and signed payment methods form
· Initialed tuition fee schedule with payment plan selection
· Bussing form (if applicable)
While we will do the best to accommodate existing families, after this deadline we will be accepting new families from our growing waitlist. Don’t be disappointed, hand in your completed re-registration package prior to the deadline. Please note that the school will be closed Friday (for PD) and Monday (Family Day).

Tomorrow is our Valentine’s Spirit Day & 100th day of school!
Story Connection: Today students listened to a book called ‘My Mouth is a Volcano’. Before we began reading students made a prediction of what they thought the book would be about. Then after the book we made text-to-text, text-to-self and text-to-world connections. This book was about a young boy who had a hard time not blurting out his ideas or words, and then one day learned how it feels to be interrupted. Together his mom helped him understand the importance of letting people speak and strategies to help him not blurt out.
Inquiry into Language: Today students wrote their Ontario Writing Assessment on journal writing. In this assessment we are looking for all the correct elements of journal writing such as…
1. Date
2. Introduction sentence
3. First, Then, Next, Lastly
4. Periods, capitals
5. DETAILED sentences
Math: Today each table was given two different shapes; they had to work together to identify the name of the shape, the amount of faces, edges and vertices. Then we shared our information with the class!
Next, students recorded their information into their math work out book and had to identify similarities and differences between both shapes.

Unit of Inquiry: Today we continued to learn about the inventor Thomas Edison and the invention the light bulb. Students continued answering comprehension questions on Thomas Edison and his life!
