The Grade 6 Exhibition is fast approaching. Ms. Jaskoka’s and Mrs. Haag’s Grade 6 classes have been working very hard on their Exhibition projects for the past few weeks. On Friday, May 3^rd, each Exhibition group will have a chance to present their project and show off all of their hard work. Some of the topics covered this year are homelessness, deforestation, stress, elder abuse and climate change. We will have the opportunity to view the projects on May 3^rd from 12:00-2:00 PM. There will also be an evening viewing for all to attend. The showing will run from 6:00-8:00 PM. Please see flyer below for more information.

Information regarding Art’s Night

Happy Wonderful Wednesday!

Arts Night Performance:Today we spent time at the dome to work on our arts night performance! We can’t wait to showcase all of our hard work. Just a friendly reminder regarding costumes, children should come to school with their costume on Tuesday hung on a hanger labeled with their name. I will hang them on my coat rack and children can change into them for the afternoon performance. Students can then take them home and get ready for the evening performance.

Math:Today students worked with a partner to solve the area and perimeter of different shapes.

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
