Happy Fabulous Friday!
What a chilly day…Brrrrr
Story Connection:  Today we learned about our new learner profile of the month, ‘risk taker’. We brainstormed as a class what being a risk taker means and how we show being a risk taker in our every day lives. I heard some great examples such as diving into the deep end when I was too scared and trying a new food I didn’t want to but enjoyed after. Then students worked through a reflection page!
Gym: Please see Ms. V’s blog at https://msvphysed.blogspot.com

Math:  Today we were introduced to our next unit, Data Management and Probability. We went over two types of graphs; bar graphs and pictographs. We talked about the similarities, differences and what needs to be included on both of them. Next we had to pull a tile from the bag, colour a square in the path, and replace the tile and repeat until one row was filled. There were 10 red tiles and 5 blue tiles. We had to think what colour would win and why? We realized that because there were more red tiles, they were more likely to win. After we went over the terms such as likely and unlikely.
French: Please see Mlle. Jessica’s blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com

Agenda:
1. Read 15 minutes
2. Work on book retell
3. Bring back re-registration package
4. Spelling test signed
5. Math test signed and returned
6. Get food for market

Unit of Inquiry: Today students broke out into their assigned groups for the market. As a group they needed to make a grocery list of things they could potentially buy for the category. For example: Vegetables group came up with a grocery list of 10 different vegetables. Then one by one each group member got to choose two things to bring! Please see their agenda for the grocery list and highlighted on the list is the two items they are responsible for bringing to the market.
Have a wonderful weekend and stay warm!

Love, Miss Gandy
