Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow is picture day. Students need to come in full dress uniform.

Story Connection:  Today students listened to a Halloween story called Arthur’s Halloween and answered comprehension questions. Together as a class we went over the main characters, setting, author’s purpose and retold the story in sequence 2 pages at a time. Then we made personal connections to the story thinking bout what they story made us think about and how we could relate to the story.
Gym: Please see Ms. V’s blog at https://msvphysed.blogspot.com

Math:   Today, students learned to record 15-minute intervals on a analogue clock. Once students finished as table groups they stood in front of the class and were given a time to show on their clocks. Next, students partnered up using my matching partner cards and had to work showing different times on the analogue clock. To challenge students their partner would ask them to add 15 minutes to the time that they were given.

French: Please see Mlle. Jessica’s blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com

Inquiry into Language:  Today students reviewed some of their words we have learned so far. Then students worked in the spelling workout book completing various tasks.
Just a reminder that this week is review week for spelling, children are being asked to pick any 10 past spelling words and create sentences for these 10. Please review all spelling words; as for the test I will be randomly picking 10 of the past spelling words.
After students finished their spelling they worked on writing me a journal about what they did over the weekend. They were reminded to try to use the correct punctuation and sentence structure.
Agenda:
·       Read 15 minutes
·       Spelling test Friday
·       Spelling sentences due Friday
·       Picture day tomorrow- full dress uniform
·       Causal day Wednesday: for students who have paid the $20.00 dollars

Unit of Inquiry: Today we introduced the different time periods in which dinosaurs roamed the earth. Today we focused on the first time period known as the Triassic period. This happened about 230 million years ago when the climate was hot and very dry which meant there was limited plants and trees around. This is the time when the first dinosaurs appeared on Earth. Next, children created a timeline of the Triassic period and labeled the different dinosaurs that roamed during this period.
Have a wonderful evening,
Love,

Miss Gandy
