Gym: Please see Ms. V’s blog at https://msvphysed.blogspot.com

Math:  Today students worked learned about telling, and showing time. We learned that when the minute hand is on the 15 we say quarter past ____. If the minute hand is at the 30 we say half past____ and if the minute hand is at the 45 we say quarter the next hour. For example: 3:45pm would be said as quarter to 4. Together as a class we practiced recognizing and saying different times. Students showed the small hand represents (hour) and the long hand (minute). Students then worked in their workbooks showing the digital time on an analogue clock.

French: Please see Mlle. Jessica’s blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com

Inquiry into Language:  Today students wrote their post Ontario Writing Assessment on list writing. Students had to recall all the information that we have learned over the past month about list writing and create a detailed list about recess rules.

Agenda:
·       Read 15 minutes
·       Spelling test Friday
·       Spelling sentences due Friday
·       Math test signed and returned
·       Trip form and money by October 25th

Unit of Inquiry:  Today students learned about the term 'paleontologists'. Together as a class we listened to a song that told us about what paleontologists are. We learned that they are scientists who study the past. Like deactivates, they look for clues buried in the earth. They teach for and study fossils. Students had to read a passage about fossils and paleontologists and answer questions!

Today we caught up on some of my past teacher helpers having their chance to read to the class! Well done Neel!

Have a wonderful evening,

Love,

Miss Gandy
