Our Fall Fundraiser is quickly approaching! What used to be our Spring Fundraiser is now our Fall Fundraiser and we need your help. This year, all funds raised will go towards our Art Productions, physical activity equipment and more Chromebooks. There will be a variety of exciting events and amazing prizes for students to win through their participation. These include sitting in the teacher chair for a day and decorating Mr. Oliver’s face with makeup!! The class who brings in the most money will win a pizza and movie party.

Daily Activities – Each activity costs $2.00!!
Monday, September 23rd is PJ Day.
Tuesday, September 24th is Popcorn Day. 
Wednesday, September 25th is Ice Cream Sandwich Day.
Thursday, September 26th is Wacky Thursday.
Friday, September 27th is Casual Day and Dance Party (JK-Grade 2) and Electronics Day and Casual Day (Grade 3-6).

 Special of the month: 3 pancakes with vanilla cream with an option of syrup for $5.00 OR 1 pancake with vanilla cream with an option of syrup for $2.50 on Fridays.

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! It was so nice to receive so many pictures of the children completing their responsibilities over the weekend. They have been put up on our Action Star wall inside the classroom.

Story connection:We started the morning with our first read aloud! Students listened to the book called ‘ A Normal Pig’. Then in their table groups they received a comprehension cube to roll and answer the different questions that it landed on. They made connections to the author’s message, practiced retelling in sequence, discussed the problem in the story, setting and characters.

Math:Today student’s reviewed attributes, pattern core and creating patterns using 2 attributes. We also went over making a pattern using a specific amount of 
For example: students practiced making a pattern using 9 red beads, 3 green beads and 6 blue beads. 

Inquiry into Language:Today students learned their words of the week! They wrote them out in both printing and cursive today. Then students worked in their spelling workout books identifying words that began and ended with h,m,p.

Agenda: Students were sent home with their agenda, every day they will write out the important dates and homework inside it. Parents are being asked to check agendas nightly and sign off beside my initials.

Unit of Inquiry:Today students learned the meaning of a short-term goal. We discussed that a short-term goal is something that can be accomplished in a short amount of time. Together we came up of a short-term goal for our class of lining up without talking and facing the front. Tomorrow they will be writing their short term goals for the school year in their journals.
