Day 2
Happy Tremendous Thursday!
Jobs:Today we went through the description of the all our class jobs and what we are responsible for. My special helpers put up the date and told us what they weather was like today.
Math:Today students wrote a pre-assessment for our first math unit, sorting and patterning. These assessments are only for teachers to understand prior knowledge and understanding of the content. These help us determine where we need to take the children in their learning journey.
Inquiry into Language:Today children signed our essential agreement to promise to follow the classroom rules that we brainstormed together. After students continued working through their booklet about setting goals for a successful school year!
Agenda: Students were sent home with their agenda, every day they will write out the important dates and homework inside it. Parents are being asked to check agendas nightly and sign off beside my initials.

Unit of Inquiry:Today the children learned about school rules. We thought about different school rules, shared our ideas with our partner sitting beside us and then to the class. We discussed the importance of having school rules and what would happen if there were not any of them. For example, if we didn’t follow the rule of staying on the school grounds then people may get lost or hurt.
House Game: Theta came first in one of the house games today!!!!
Thank you to Sabrina, my teacher helper for the day! At the end of the day every teacher helper gets to read a story to the class to help us with our reading and presentations skills!
