Ms. Hughes would be happy to answer any questions you may have. She can be reached at bsmith@stjudesacademy.com
A note from Ms. Hayward:
Happy Fantastic Friday!
French: We started the day with Mlle. Jessica. Please see her blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com
Math: Today students had to estimate and measure masses using 3 different non-standard units. We used marbles, beans and snap cubes to measure 2 objects using a balance scale. For example, the crayon weighed 38 beans.
Daily 5: Today students had to pick an adjective out of a cup and create a detailed sentence using that specific adjective.
Students needed to follow a specific success criteria for this activity

2. I can include capital letters
3. I can include periods

Summative presentations June 3rd/5th
African Lion Safari trip Tuesday
Raptors day Wednesday
Gym: Ms.Yustin was away for track and field today so I decided to take my students outside for gym. We played a fun game called Loop Ball where students had to try and get the ball into the opponents net without being tagged. We had runners, guards and taggers!
Inquiry into Language:Today students wrote a journal about their plans for summer vacation. They needed to include all the components of journal writing such as a date, introduction sentence, sentence starters and a conclusion sentence. I can see we have some very excited children ready for summer vacation!
Unit of Inquiry:Today students practiced their summative presentations with a friend. Once students finished they were able to give feedback to their partner, 2 things that they loved about the presentation and one thing that they can work on for Monday! We also created pop up pictures of different habitats today!
Have a wonderful,
Love,
Miss Gandy
