A Note About Spelling
There will be no more spelling tests for the remainder of the year. We have finished working through our spelling workout book. Please continue to work on spelling with your child over the summer!

Our SJA Parent Guild is hosting an SJA Year-End Play Day on Wednesday, June 12th from 10:00-2:00. The cost for the play day is $20 ($15/sibling) and includes bouncy castles, obstacle course, face painting, Henna body art, photo booth, games, and clowns! For an extra $5, the following food choices will be available: 2 slices of cheese pizza, 2 hot dogs or 2 veggies samosas. Each option comes with chips and water. All order forms and money are due back by Thursday, May 23rd. All proceeds raised will go towards our ongoing fundraising efforts

Happy Track and Field Thursday!
Today was track and field! We only got 2 events completed before they had to cancel the day due to the rain. Congratulations to everyone who participated and placed in the events. The day will continue tomorrow, hopefully we will have better weather. Please wear your gym uniform again and do not forget to pack sunscreen and water!

Math:Today students reviewed 2-D shapes, their names and properties together as a class. We worked on solving word problems and naming the movements of different shapes such as flip, slide and turn.
Inquiry into Language:Today students wrote their post OWA on journal writing. They needed to include all the components they have learned about letter writing over the past couple months such as (date, opening, body, signature and closing). I am looking forward to reading them!

Agenda:
Math test tomorrow
Track and field tomorrow- please wear gym uniform and bring sunscreen
Read 15 minutes/ comprehension
Please bring back any library books
End of year play forms due Thursday
African Lion Safari form and money

Unit of Inquiry:Today we finished our ocean pictures! After we finished we watched a video that talked about the different animals and plants we find in the rainforest. Then as a class we came up with a list of each one.

Have a wonderful evening,

Love,
Miss Gandy
